A new leaked build of Windows 8.1 reveals a new Kiosk Mode and other improvements. A user who logs in using Kiosk Mode will see only their assigned app and cannot access any other apps. Nothing happens when the user clicks on the Start tip or any of the Charms. Only the Ctrl+Alt+Del interface will display.
The All Apps section of the Start Screen has also been improved. A search bar has been added to top-right corner to make searching apps more discoverable. A hidden arrow button also appears when the mouse is moved to make switching between the Tiles and All Apps sections more discoverable.
Uninstalling an app now displays a dialog box that allows the user to choose whether to also remove the app from all other devices that use the same Microsoft account. Changes to the PC settings have also been made as Microsoft continues to move settings over from the Control Panel in desktop mode. There are also more settings that can be synced between devices.
The SkyDrive desktop application is now integrated into Explorer so it is available to Windows RT users. There is also an option to set the default save location to SkyDrive and a new Files app that enables file management outside of the desktop.
